Planning Applications submitted to the
Vale of Glamorgan Council

The planning applications for the Defence Technical College and Aerospace Business Park were submitted to the Vale of Glamorgan Council in May 2009. As part of the statutory process, the Council will undertake a comprehensive, 16 week study of the proposals incorporating further public consultation during which the local community and stakeholders will be invited to give feedback on the plans direct to the Council. A decision on the planning applications, to be made by the Council’s Planning Committee, is expected during September 09.

Dates announced for next round of exhibitions

Following the success of the recent St Athan Workshops and Interest Groups, the St Athan team is pleased to announce the dates and locations of the second round of public exhibitions.

This round of exhibitions will update everyone on the project, highlight the key changes that have been made to the masterplan since the last round of exhibitions and show how we have considered the views of the public and other stakeholders.

The exhibitions will also provide an opportunity to view the latest masterplan ahead of submission of the planning application to the Vale of Glamorgan Council in May 2009.

Community Invited to Attend Interest Groups as Public Consultation Continues

Following on from two highly successful Workshops held in December last year, the project team working on the proposed redevelopment of MOD St Athan is pleased to announce that two Interest Groups will be held at the beginning of February.

The first Interest Group will take place on Tuesday 24 February at the St Athan Community Hall and will focus on the ‘Environment’ whilst the second will take place on Wednesday 4 March at RAF St Athan Golf Club and will focus on ‘Community Welfare’.
